Weird thrift store art in Arizona
Steve Purdy and Mark Bloom are two guys from Arizona who host exhibitions featuring the strangest artworks they can pick up in thrift stores.
There's something about weird outsider art that's totally honest, like movies that are so bad they're good. Someone set out to create something, and although it might have gone a little (or a whole lot) wrong a long the way, their efforts and intentions were pure. I love that.
Also, let's face it, some of the paintings you see in thrift stores are downright nuts, so it's great to try and guess who made them in the first place.
So I salute these guys, and I hope they keep bringing weird art to the masses.
