Up for sale is this prettyf Reverse Foil Paintings also known as a "Tinsel Painting." The subject is a lovely "Crinoline Lady" picking flowers in her garden. This pretty painting by J. Jensen is a great example of this decades old craft. Think of all the hours of work that went into creating them. They'd make lovely display pieces in your home and would be good conversation pieces as well. Or, they'd look adorable in a young girls room. Tinsel painting is a craft with a long tradition. It is a special form of painting in which the design is inked in black on the reverse side of glass and filled in with transparent colors. When the glass is put in the frame, a piece of crumpled aluminum foil is placed behind it so that the light passing through the transparent paint reflects off the foil giving a special dazzling quality.
