Judith and Holofernes Goya Black Paintings
So many artists have tackled the subject of Judith and Holofernes, usually to spectacular effect. None more so, in my opinion, than Francisco de Goya's attempt in his series of 'Black Paintings'. Although lacking claret the picture is still wholly disturbing.
