This is a beautiful example of a post war painting depicting Loch Morlich in the Scottish Highlands. Painted by Edward Irvine Halliday in 1946, the piece does a fine job of showing the surrounding highlands, the loch as well as the local flora. Particularly attractive is the use of light in the reflection. Estimated value for the painting is £1,200-£1,800 as part of Lyon & Turnbull's "British & European Paintings" collection starting on Sunday the 27th of April.
