How long do you have to wait before something practical starts becoming art? I guess as soon as it stops being something you can actually use! Auctionata's Ancient Art sale takes place on the 20th of January and is filled with ancient Greek and Roman antiquities, many of which would have been used as every day items, but now are being sold as display pieces. This Corinthian helmet dates from the 6th or 7th century and is expected to sell for about €60,000. Really it's a privilege just to be able to see one of these up close so I hope the buyer realises how lucky they are!
