Largest ever antique sale at David Lay Auctions

The May antiques sale is set to be the largest ever offered at David Lay Auctions as the company enjoys a boost in business thanks to the sale of a  £52,000 ancient Egyptian bronze cat. 

The auction has had an 'unprecedented amount' of jewellery consignments and features over 500 lots of fine jewellery and nearly 300 pieces of silver. 

The auction will also be offering letters from Princess Alexandra and the Duke of Cambridge alongside a French ships trading license signed by Napoleon. 

Though the items that will create the most auction excitement are a collection of minatures depicting members of the Allen family of Bathampton, including one by leading miniature painter John Miers. In all this fine collection can be expected to bring somewhere in the region of £3,000.

The sale will take place on the 14th-15th of May in Penzance, Cornwall
