Horse mounted jousting armour to star in December 2 sale
A full set of jousting armour mounted on a model horse will be offered at Thomas Del Mar in London on December 2.
It’s expected to sell for £12,000-18,000 ($18,245-27,368).
It’s made in the Spanish style (as used by the conquistadors) and while most was made in the 19th century, there are a number of pieces, such as the backplate and the stirrups, that date to the 16th century.
Jousting armour was extremely heavy, as it was designed to take the impact of a lance travelling at speed.
