Ed Debevic's diner auction held on October 19
Items from much-loved Chicago diner Ed Debevic’s held an auction on October 19 following its closure earlier this year.
Famed for its wait staff, who gleefully insulted customers, it was much loved by Chicagoans and tourists alike.
Founded in 1984, the restaurant is reportedly closing until it can find alternate premises – as its current home has been sold to a real estate developer.
Items offered in the sale included everything from the iconic signs that hung over the bar (“The more you tip the nicer we are”) to kitchen equipment and tables.
