Alexander the Great tomb excavation stalled due to Greek crisis
Excavation on a major tomb in Greece that could be the final resting place of Alexander the Great has stalled in the midst of the crisis.
It stands in Amphipolis, a central site to the ancient Macedonians.
A lack of funding has meant that the project has been placed on the backburner.
A guard at the site told AFP: "No one works here any more. The project is frozen, like everything else in Greece.
"We still don't know if the country is going to run out of money.”
