Addisons is a British auctioneer and valuer, based in County Durham in the North of England. They have a long-standing reputation for quality antique sales and professional valuation services.
The company holds regular sales featuring antiques, fine art, ceramics, jewellery, books and other collector’s items.
In February 2011 they also introduced live online bidding through their website for their fortnightly Antiques and Interiors sales.
According to the company website, Addisons was founded “…nearly a century ago to provide the people of Teesdale with land management and estate agency services.”
The company developed into an auctioneers during the 1950s, selling everything from antiques to livestock, and since 2002 has had a home in a new purpose built premises.

Sotheby's and Doyle New York. His reputation and influence has attracted a highly skilled team of fellow professionals, and he has introduced eight specialist sales a year.
The current Addisons team of experts is comprised of Edwards, Simon W. Nixon, David Elstob, Henrietta Graham and Francis Calder.
Addisons hold a combination of regular wide-ranging sales and less frequent, specialist sales. Their general auction calendar consists of: - A fortnightly Antiques and Interiors sale, featuring a variety of lots including 18th century and later furniture, glassware, silver and metalwork, costume and other jewellery, textiles, paintings and prints. - A quarterly Fine Art and Antiques sale, for which fully illustrated catalogues are available - The Northern Sporting sale, held twice a year, featuring antique and modern firearms, antique shooting accessories, fishing tackle, sporting pictures and books. - An annual spring Garden Sale, featuring antique and modern garden furniture, decorative garden features, architectural salvage, vintage and modern garden tools and equipment, and garden stonework.
Recent notable sales at Addisons include an Auguste Rodin bronze sculpture entitled ‘Polypheme’ which sold for £11,000 in March 2010, and a Chinese hexagonal, hardwood plant stand which sold for £4,000 in December 2010.
