Vintage Hamm’s beer coolers are collectible items of breweriana advertising.

According to the 1930 Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act’s definition, “vintage” refers to pieces manufactured within the last 100 years and can include items made as recently as the 1980s.


Established in 1865 in Minnesota, US, the brewery quickly became one of the largest in the state.

It is currently owned by MillerCoors.

The company is perhaps best known for its Hamm’s beer bear mascot.

Vintage Hamm’s beer coolers were mainly made during the 1960s.

They were produced in several guises, mostly from aluminium. The majority were manufactured by Crontroms of Minneapolis, US.

Among the most collectible are those which incorporate a padded seat on top of the lid. These varieties were made with both blue and red seats.

How much are vintage Hamm’s beer coolers worth?

Blue or red seated coolers made by Cronstroms can achieve between $50 and $150 at internet auction sites, depending on condition. The prices of other variants can range from $20 to $125, depending on condition.
