Vintage Blatz beer sweaters are collectible items of breweriana advertising.

According to the 1930 Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act’s definition, “vintage” refers to pieces manufactured within the last 100 years and can include items made as recently as the 1980s.

Blatz beer

Blatz beer was produced by Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based US brewery Valentin Blatz Brewing Company from 1851 until 1959.

At that point the beer was sold to the US Pabst Brewing Company, before changing hands several more times prior to being acquired back by Pabst in 2007.

The beer is well known for its advertising strategies. In 2007 it introduced the Blatz Party USA tune to the nation in a series of adverts.

Vintage Blatz beer sweaters

Vintage Blatz beer sweaters were produced in the 1960s.

Predominately yellow, with a blue band around the chest proclaiming “Blatz”, these sweaters, along with other vintage beer sweaters, are highly sought after among breweriana collectors.
