Jax beer coolers

Jax beer coolers are collectible items of breweriana advertising.

Jax Beer

Jax Beer was first produced in 1913, at the Jax Brewing Company in Jacksonville, Florida, US.

Following the end of prohibition the beer gained popularity throughout the south-eastern US, alongside Jax Stout and Jax Ale.

The company was sold to the New Orleans-based Jackson Brewing Company in 1956.

By the 1960’s it had become the 10 largest brewery in the US.

The Jackson Brewing Company went bankrupt in 1974 and Jax Beer’s rights were acquired by San Antonio, Texas-based Pearl Brewing Company.

The beer continues to be made in small numbers by Pearl today.
